Celtics Outlast Pacers in High-Scoring Affair

The Boston Celtics escaped with a 133-128 overtime win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the 2024 Eastern Conference semifinals. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with a game-high 36 points and 12 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown added 25 points.

The Pacers were led by Tyrese Haliburton's 30 points and 10 assists. Domantas Sabonis added 29 points and 10 rebounds, while Myles Turner had 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than 10 points. The Pacers led by 5 points with less than two minutes remaining in regulation, but Tatum hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 2. The Celtics then forced a turnover and Brown hit a tying 3-pointer with just seconds remaining.

In overtime, the Celtics took control of the game. Tatum scored 10 points in overtime, including a 3-pointer to give the Celtics a 126-123 lead with just over a minute remaining. The Celtics held on for the win, and now lead the series 1-0.
